Ah, the NE Cosplayers Picnic. I was not able to make it to the picnics the last couple of years, but it was nice to attend this year and I dressed up in my Nina Wong from My Otome. It was held in its usual location at Rose Tree Park in Media, PA. at the gazebo in the middle of the park. We arrived fashionably late and were surprised to also find a greek festival going on. While we walked over to the gazebo, it was fun watching them stare at us. lol

But we made it over and met a bunch of new cosplayers! Made friends, ate hamburgers and hot dogs, chips, and various other picnic goodies. I made a cookie cake. Yay, I didn't screw up cooking something, and I even made the frosting from scratch. Thanks to Joe for the recipe for that one, it was delicious!

I brought a stunt kite to entertain ourselves and entertain we did! A few of use spent the greater part of the afternoon, it seems, to actually get the kite to fly. I think we had it up for 30 seconds at the longest and even had an experienced kite flyer come over and help us launch it properly. At one point we got it up briefly only to have it land in a tree and we had to perform a rescue operation to remove it from said tree.

The group of us also wandered around the park getting some pictures and checking out the greek festival. A few climbed trees, and there was a lot of running around and having fun. Just being silly and having a great time together. When the evening arrived, we took our leave since we had another obligation, and said our goodbyes. But everyone, I had a great time and can't wait until next year! Or until maybe we have one in the fall?
